About:
ProximityCast.net Point Finder Tool

  1. Start Point: The Point Finder Tool allows you to enter the Latitude and Longitude coordinates of a know point in decimal.degrees, e.g. 36.35301,-92.57606 as the "Start Point".
  2. Bearing: Then you can enter a compass bearing for the desired direction between 0 and 360 degrees.
  3. Distance: Finally, you can enter a distance in feet to the next point.
    • NOTE: If you are working with long distances where miles or kilometers are more practical, you may prefer to use this website.

The point finder tool will provide the results in decimal.degrees in a clickable link that will take you to a google map showing the point.

Point Finder is currently in Beta, and does not do any rigorous data checking; so it is up to you to insure that you enter valid data.

Most GPS devices have a certain amount of error built and are not meant to nail a point down precisely. Therefore this tool is only good for getting you into the ball park depending on the quality of your data, and your results are reasonable. Should you need precise results that go beyond a desire for general awareness you should possibly consult a professional land surveyor.
